Born in Belmond, Iowa, Janine Brown holds a Bachelor in Fine Arts from Iowa State University, an Associate in Applied Science from the Fashion Institute of Technology, and a Master in Business Administration from the Stern School of Business. After a successful career in the Fashion Industry and Direct Marketing, she returned to Fine Art.
Ms. Brown’s award winning artwork has been featured at the Westport Arts Center (Westport, CT) and City Lights Gallery (Bridgeport, CT). Her artwork has been selected for numerous juried exhibitions, which include the Housatonic Museum of Arts’ 3rd Annual Open Juried Exhibition (Bridgeport, CT), Works on Paper: Green at the Bruce S. Kershner Gallery (Fairfield, CT); and the Abstract and Geometric Exhibition at the Woman Made Gallery (Chicago, IL). In addition, two of her pastel pieces have been awarded Honorable Mentions and published in the Pastel Journal for their Annual Pastel 100 Competitions.
She is a Board Member of the Westport Arts Center, where she is also a member of the Visual Arts Committee, and an exhibiting member of the Rowayton Art Center. The artist maintains a studio at the American Fabrics and Design Center in Bridgeport, CT and resides in Fairfield, CT. |
